Raymond Kenney Obituary

Always a gentleman, Raymond “Ray” Edward Kenney passed away March 5, 2019. Ray was born on May 21, 1947 to William and Helen Kenney, in Providence, Rhode Island. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era and was always a proud, and dedicated patriot who supported veterans throughout his life.

He tenaciously pursued a business career with Banker's Life and Casualty Company, ultimately becoming a regional sales manager. His career brought him to Arizona in the mid-seventies and then to Hawai'i, where he spent some of the finest days of his life. He enjoyed water sports with his children and the warm, sunny climate of the pacific island chain. He returned to Arizona in the 1990s, ultimately settling in Prescott in 1996.

Ray was a die-hard Broncos fan even when they had some recently poor years, but thoroughly enjoyed the Payton Manning years of glory! For many years, he enjoyed a playful, seasonal bet with his sister Laurel – an avid Patriots fan – that would see them swapping an ever increasing picture frame full of Two-dollar bills between them depending on which team had the better record each year. He had the honor of attending the NFL's fourth longest game at a division playoff in Denver against the Baltimore Ravens – double overtime in sub-zero weather! Ray was an excellent pool player, a lover of great Italian food, and of course J.D. and Gentleman Jack!

Ray is survived by his grandsons Max and Brady Kenney – Winchester, Pennsylvania, his daughter Kristin Murray, Tucson, AZ, son William Kenney, twin sister Laurel Aldridge of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, his “brother” david, Prescott,AZ and other friends in, and out of the community.
